Welcome to Research and Technology, known as "Res-Tech." You will learn how to ready your personal computer for school work and practice high school level research methods.
Res-Tech is taught by Mrs. Hanson, the high school librarian, in the library classroom. All freshmen take it during the first quarter of the year. It is pass/fail, and your section will meet five times, once in an 8-day rotation.
Res-Tech is different from any other course you've taken in school. It is self-paced, which means you can work ahead and finish early. If you do that, you will have a free block when the class meets. If you need more structure, the class meets every week and I will check your homework and help you stay on track.
How do you "do" this class? Work your way through the five modules to the left of this box. During the first class, you'll work through Module 1, complete and hand in your assignments. For the second class, you will work on Module 2, while I check your homework from Module 1 and answer questions. The same pattern will apply to classes 3, 4 and 5. Remember, there are only 5 class meetings.
It's really important that you bring your headphones/earbuds and computer to class every week!
I look forward to working with you and helping you get to this:
