Help for your research paper

Suggested Databases

This guide is designed to help you navigate the world of sports literature and support your independent research project. The Opposing Viewpoints and Gale High School Edition databases are great jumping off points.

To make your research even easier, I've linked to relevant topic guides below. These resources will help you dig deeper into your chosen subjects and find the information you need efficiently. Happy researching!

Seriously academic databases

Use these when you want to find the link between your topic and the world of business, science, psychology, etc.

Tip: you don't need to read the whole article. Scan the title and read the abstract. That will usually give you enough information to use in your paper.

Google Scholar

Google Scholar Search

If you find a good article with no PDF, ask your librarian to get it for you. Allow a few days for the article to arrive. The librarians will be requesting it from a service offered by the Boston Public Library.

News and magazines

Ebooks

A good place to start your research. Articles are 1-10 pages long and place your topic in context, explains history, and introduces you to important names, organizations and ideas.
