Revolutions: Databases and websites

Encyclopedias

Encyclopedias are a good place to put your topic into context and learn where your topic falls in the history of a country or region.

Subject databases

Subject databases give more specialized information, including magazine and newspaper articles, scholarly journals and multiedia like videos and podcasts. Most of the Gale databases include encyclopedia entries, so it can be a comprehensive resource.

AP Images gives you high quality downloadable images that you can use in your presentations.

eBooks

This ebook database will give you shorter books written specifically for student research. Please use multiple keywords when searching the database. For example, if you are researching Syria, do two searches: one for "Syria" and another for "al-Assad."  If do only one search for "Syria," the book about al-Assad will not turn up and you don't want to miss that one!
