Under the Feet of Jesus inquiry project

Under the Feet of Jesus Inquiry Project

Explore

  • Explore interesting ideas you found in "Immerse"
  • Look around; Don't worry if information doesn't "fit together"
  • Dip in. Record interesting sources that you may want to go back to later in your Inquiry Log.

Your assignment

Make notes in your Inquiry Journal Log (in Google Classroom). Guiding questions for your notes are:

  • What is interesting as you dip in and read?
  • What are you finding that you'd like to tell someone about?
  • What questions come to mind?

Mr. Kelley and Mrs. Hanson will check your log to keep up with your progress. You'll use this work in next week's Inquiry Circle.

Inquiry Tools

Inquiry Journal
You will keep an Inquiry Journal which your teachers will check throughout the project. It contains the

  • Inquiry Journal Prompt where you answer specific questions
  • Inquiry Log where you keep a record of your inquiry choices and strategies,
  • Stop and Jot sheets where you can make quick notes about what you're reading.

Inquiry Circle
You'll meet in small groups based on common interests to think through important points in the inquiry process

Key questions of media literacy

1. Who created the message and what is the purpose?

2. What techniques are used to attract and hold attention?

3. What lifestyles, values and points of view are depicted?

4. How might different people interpret this message?

5. What is omitted?
